Job Description
- Assisting customers
- Scanning pricing information into the cash register system, collecting payments, verifying prices and quantities, issuing a receipt, wrapping and bagging merchandise
- Voiding transactions of regular Cashiers, expediting price check request information and monitoring self-checkout areas
- Resolving and balancing cash tills at the end of shifts, generating accurate till reports for each register, creating reports for credit and debit sales and accounting for many transactions
- Hiring, training and supervising new Cashiers
- Managing all check-out functions and checking Cashier money counting tasks
- Serving as point of contact for customer service, returns and exchanges
- Listening to customer complaints and questions
- Following procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, giveaways and the selling of specific items such as cigarettes and alcohol
